"Containing numerous tables…embellished with numerous engravings of Manners, Customs, etc." 8th edition, 24mo, paper-covered boards with leather backstrip, 283pp. b/w engravings throughout. Condition is GOOD: corners and boards are rubbed, spine is scratched down middle, light scattered foxing, scattered pencil notations (looks to be names of people faintly written in the spine margin) - the foxing and markings do not affect the text, the pages are strong and intact, owner names on endpapers "Mr. Henry W. Kingsley, Adams, May 21" and again on rear endpaper with date 1832. (Seems to be Henry W. Kingsley, 1820-1884, buried in Adams, MA - a Captain in the 10th Vermont regiment during the Civil War). This book was used as a textbook and has various questions and answer sections.
