Arranged by A. F., no date noted, but circa 1908 (there is an inscription dated Dec 25, 1914). 12mo, tan cloth with pictorial paste-on (same as frontispiece), a lovely color frontispiece of a "Gibson girl" type illustration (the initials of the artist are illegible), unpaginated, original box. Condition is NEAR FINE: pages clear with only a name and date on recto of frontispiece, with glassine wrapper intact (has a few small tears to spine head and tail), box is solid with some light staining, owner name written on box label. This is essentially a "little black book" - with blank pages throughout for listing all the "Girls I have met": name, date, place, and comments - there are four entries to each page and only on recto. The first two pages includes a list for "The Twenty-five Most Remarkable Girls" with a line for the prettiest, homeliest, wickedest, most athletic, best dressed, greatest chatterbox, dullest, best dancer, most accomplished (Mr Darcy would be proud!), and more, the last being "The Only One" who hopefully never lays eyes on this book... Excellent condition, and nice piece of popular culture from the early 20th century.
